How to make the perfect Singapore Sling

As luxurious as the hotel it was founded in – this Far Eastern, contents-heavy cocktail is one really open to interpretation. We know its gin-based, we know it contains Bénédictine, but what else goes in can be entirely subjective. Once you’ve nailed the classic recipe, you can get really get imaginative. Create a sweeter version by adding different fruits, or reduce the sweet element leaving you with a more aromatic and fragrant finish. 

 Ingredients:

  • 30ml of your preferred gin
  • 15ml of  your preferred cherry liqueur
  • 10ml of grenadine syrup
  • 7.5ml of Cointreau
  • 7.5ml of Bénédictine
  • 120ml of pineapple juice
  • 15ml of fresh apple juice
  • A dash of angostura bitters
  • A pineapple slice
  • Maraschino cherry
  • Ice

Method:

  • Add the gin, cherry liqueur, grenadine syrup, Cointreau, Bénédictine, pineapple juice, apple juice,  angostura bitters and ice to a cocktail shaker.
  • Shake well for 8 – 10 seconds.
  • Strain into an ice-filled glass..
  • Garnish with pineapple slice and maraschino cherry.
