Bloody Mary

How to make the perfect Bloody Mary

A definite contender if you’re starting early; the Bloody Mary is a nice one to ease you in gently. Conversely, it works as a great ‘Hair of the Dog’ if you’ve finished late the night before.  If you like something fierier on the palate you can really go to town and get creative by way of condiments and spices; the freshness of the tomato juice will always balance it well. The Bloody Mary has even been known to be served with bacon and shrimp - although we’re not entirely sure how we feel about those garnishes! Serve without vodka and it’s what the Aussies call ‘A Bloody Shame’ (something we’re definitely in agreement with) …

 Ingredients:

  • 50ml of your preferred vodka
  • 90ml tomato juice
  • 20ml fresh lemon juice
  • A dash of Tabasco
  • A dash of Worcestershire sauce
  • A pinch of salt & pepper
  • A celery stick (optional)
  • A lemon wedge.
  • Ice

Method:

  • Fill your tumbler with ice.
  • Add the Worcestershire and Tabasco sauce.
  • Add the salt and pepper.
  • Add the vodka, tomato juice and lemon juice.
  • Stir gently.
  • Garnish with the celery stick and lemon wedge.
